This bill appropriates $350,000 from the general fund to the public education department for fiscal year 2016 and beyond to establish regional centers across New Mexico. These centers will offer services such as curriculum alignment, professional development, technical assistance, portfolio assessment, and networking for highly qualified arts educators. The goal is to help these educators integrate arts education into standards-based instruction for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, and any remaining funds will not be returned to the general fund at the end of a fiscal year.
