This bill prohibits smoking in any motor vehicle when a minor, defined as someone under eighteen years of age, is present. Smoking is broadly defined to include the inhalation or burning of any lighted or heated tobacco or plant product, as well as the use of electronic smoking devices that create aerosol or vapor. Violators will be guilty of a misdemeanor, with a first offense resulting in a $100 fine that can be waived if the person completes an approved smoking cessation course, and subsequent offenses carrying a $100 fine per offense.
