This bill prohibits state agencies, political subdivisions (like cities and counties), and their employees from participating in the enforcement of federal laws, orders, rules, or regulations concerning personal firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition that are enacted or issued after the bill's effective date, unless required by a court order. It also prevents the use of state or allocated local funds to assist federal agencies or their contractors in enforcing such federal regulations. Furthermore, the State Treasurer is prohibited from transferring funds to any political subdivision that is found by a court to have intentionally violated this section. Individuals who knowingly violate the bill face a civil penalty of up to $3,000 for a first offense and a Class 1 misdemeanor for subsequent offenses.
