This bill makes several changes to Minnesota's laws regarding the trapping and hunting of wild animals, particularly wolves. It establishes a dedicated wolf management and monitoring account funded by wolf licenses, and clarifies that taking, transporting, or possessing wolves in violation of game and fish laws is a gross misdemeanor. The bill removes the specific fee for a wolf trapping license, and prohibits the use of traps to take wolves, except for authorized predator control programs.
