This bill modifies existing Kansas law to allow for greater flexibility in how funds from the Arkansas River Gaging Fund are used. Specifically, it amends K.S.A. 74-5,133 to increase the maximum amount of money that can be spent from this fund for livestock market reporting from $20,000 to $95,000 per fiscal year, and for the bluestem pasture report from $5,000 to $95,000 per fiscal year, after the primary purpose of operating and maintaining river gages along the Arkansas River and stateline groundwater gages in the Arkansas River basin has been met. The bill also makes conforming changes to other related statutes concerning agricultural liming materials and their inspection, and repeals those statutes.
