This bill amends the Local Economic Development Act by changing the population limit for a municipality where a retail business can be considered a qualifying entity for economic development projects. Previously, a municipality with a population of ten thousand or less could have a retail business as a qualifying entity, but this bill increases that limit to twenty-five thousand or less. This means that in municipalities with populations between ten thousand and twenty-five thousand, retail businesses will now be eligible for economic development project assistance under this act.
