This bill mandates that the state will cover all expenses related to putting this act into effect, and it requires the substance abuse advisory committee to present the findings of their research and any suggestions to the state legislature by January 1, 2016, by submitting them to the clerks of the House and Senate, who will then pass them to the chairs of the joint committees on education and mental health and substance abuse. Additionally, a model curriculum, which is a standardized set of educational materials and guidelines, must be created by June 30, 2015, to support substance abuse education in public schools.
