This bill proposes to amend existing law concerning sex offenders by adding new restrictions for those designated as level 2 or 3 offenders. Specifically, it would prohibit these individuals from establishing a home address or any other living accommodation within 500 feet of any property containing a public or private school, a licensed day care center, or any other child care facility. Furthermore, these offenders would also be prohibited from accepting employment within that same 500-foot radius of such child-focused locations. This measure aims to increase protections for children by creating a buffer zone around places where they are educated and cared for.
