This bill proposes changes to the fees associated with noncriminal hearings for certain motor vehicle violations, specifically addressing situations where the accused violator is found not responsible for the citation. Currently, there are fees associated with these hearings, and this bill aims to ensure that these fees are returned to the violator if they are cleared of the charges. If a clerk magistrate determines the violator is not responsible, the $25 fee will be refunded, and if a Justice makes the same determination, the $50.00 fee will be refunded. This aims to prevent individuals from paying fees for violations they are ultimately found not guilty of.
