This bill proposes to amend existing Massachusetts law regarding continuing education for insurance producers, which are individuals licensed to sell insurance. Specifically, it allows for up to three hours of continuing insurance education per year to be credited towards an insurance producer's required continuing education if they maintain active annual membership in The National Association of Financial Advisors-Massachusetts. However, there's a limit of nine hours that can be awarded for this membership over a 36-month reporting period, and this credit can only be given to producers who are already required to complete at least 45 hours of continuing education within that same 36-month period.
