This bill, declared an emergency law for public convenience, addresses continuing education requirements for licensed or certified real estate appraisers and real estate appraisal trainees in Massachusetts. Specifically, it mandates that any disciplinary action taken against such professionals by the board of real estate appraisers prior to May 26, 2011, due to a failure to complete the required 7-hour national Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal update course (as set by the Appraisal Qualifications Board of the Appraisal Foundation), shall be rescinded and permanently removed from their record, provided they had completed this course on time before the bill's effective date.
