This bill requires limited liability corporations, or LLCs (a type of business structure), that provide educational, childcare, daycare, tutoring, or teaching services to children under 18 to obtain a license from the Department of Early Education and Care before they can be certified by the Secretary of the Commonwealth. Any LLCs currently operating in these fields without such a license must apply for one or face decertification. The bill specifies that the required licenses include Family Child Care License, Small Group and School-Age Child Care License, and Large Group and School-Age Child Care License. Furthermore, all applicants for these licenses must conduct a sex offender registry board check on all current and future employees and report their compliance annually. Finally, LLCs holding these licenses must provide parents of enrolled children with a list of all employees and their current addresses at the facility, with new employees added to this list within ten business days of hiring.
