This bill amends Section 64 of Chapter 143 of the General Laws to exempt certain private non-profit organizations from more frequent elevator inspections. Specifically, a private non-profit organization with fewer than 200 dues-paying members will not be required to have its elevator inspected more than once every three years, provided it solely occupies the dwelling where the elevator is located. This change offers a less frequent inspection schedule for smaller non-profit entities in their own buildings.
