This bill proposes to amend Chapter 32 of the General Laws to provide cost-of-living adjustments for retired judges. Specifically, it states that justices of the Supreme Judicial Court, Appeals Court, and the various departments of the Trial Court who reached their mandatory retirement age of 70 before or after January 1, 2013, will have their annual pensions increased at the same rate as the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Workers for the Northeast Region, starting July 1, 2016, and annually thereafter.
