This bill proposes to amend Chapter 90 of the Massachusetts General Laws to create a new section, Section 2J, which would exempt disabled veterans from paying motor vehicle registration fees on their primary passenger vehicle. Specifically, a veteran who is recognized by the United States Veterans Administration as permanently disabled due to their military service, and who has been certified as such by the medical advisory board established under section 8C of chapter 90, would be eligible for this exemption on one registered motor vehicle. The Registry of Motor Vehicles, the state agency responsible for vehicle registration, would be the entity to implement this fee waiver.
