This bill directs the State Retirement Board, which manages retirement benefits for state employees, to grant creditable service to Thomas C. Famulari, a full-time Dam Safety Inspector for the Department of Conservation and Recreation, for the period he worked as a full-time Dam Safety Inspector for the Department of Environmental Management from July 1987 to July 2005. Creditable service refers to the years of employment that count towards calculating a retirement allowance, which is a pension paid to retired employees. To receive this creditable service, Mr. Famulari must pay the state employees' retirement system an amount equivalent to what would have been deducted from his salary during that period, plus regular interest, at the rate he was being compensated at the time; this payment can be made in a lump sum or installments as determined by the State Retirement Board.
