This bill establishes the Florida Business Information Portal within the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) to provide comprehensive information for starting and operating a business in Florida, including details on necessary licenses, permits, and registrations from various state agencies. The portal will feature a downloadable guide, checklists for different business types, a system to direct users to the correct agencies, and information on tax and Department of State registrations. Several state agencies, such as the Department of Revenue, Department of Health, and the Agency for Health Care Administration, are required to collaborate with the DBPR to develop and maintain the portal's content. Additionally, the bill repeals existing provisions related to the "One-Stop Business Registration Portal" and terminates its associated trust fund within the Department of Revenue. The DBPR is also mandated to report to the Governor and Legislature by October 1, 2017, with recommendations and cost estimates for including local government information in the portal.
