This bill modifies the membership of the South Boston Community Development Foundation, which is referred to as "the foundation" in the text. The foundation will now have 13 members: 9 appointed by the governor, including small business owners from the local neighborhood and individuals nominated by the state senator from the first Suffolk district and the state representative from the fourth Suffolk district. Additionally, 3 members will be appointed by the mayor, who must be representatives of local social service agencies, and the Boston city councilor from district two or their designee will also be a member. With the exception of elected officials, all members must be residents of South Boston and will serve two-year terms that can be renewed.
