This bill proposes to amend existing election laws to establish new limits on political contributions. Specifically, it would add a new provision to Section 7A of Chapter 55, which deals with campaign finance. Under this new provision, any group, association, labor union, or other entity would be limited to contributing a maximum of $1,000 per calendar year to a single candidate and their committee. Additionally, the same types of entities would be restricted to contributing no more than $1,000 per calendar year to any other political committee, excluding those specifically designated for ballot questions. These limits apply if the contributing entity is not already restricted or prohibited from making contributions by other parts of the chapter.
