This bill, concerning short-term health care plans, amends Chapter 111M of existing law by introducing a new section that defines a "short-term medical plan" as health coverage with a specific expiration date, lasting less than 12 months from its original start date, even with policyholder-elected extensions. It allows eligible individuals to purchase these nonrenewable short-term medical plans, which can be sold or renewed consecutively for up to a total of 24 months. Insurers offering these plans must clearly disclose in writing that they are not guaranteed to be renewed.
