This bill expands the powers of the director of Fisheries and Wildlife by allowing them to declare open seasons for hunting deer with a bow and arrow on any date, including Sundays or legal holidays. Specifically, if an open season declared by the director for bow and arrow deer hunting falls within the last three months of the calendar year, it must be for at least seven consecutive days. The bill also clarifies that this expanded authority will not prohibit or make unlawful the hunting of deer with a bow and arrow, or carrying a bow and arrow for that purpose, on any Sunday that the director, with the approval of the fisheries and wildlife board, declares as an open season for such hunting.
