This bill, the TRICARE Portability Act of 2015, aims to ensure that individuals covered by the TRICARE program, which provides health care for military personnel and their families, can seamlessly access medical services regardless of which TRICARE region they are in. The Secretary of Defense is required to issue regulations within 180 days to facilitate this portability, including automatically transferring beneficiary information electronically between TRICARE contractors when someone moves between regions.
