This Resolution sets the rules for considering two important pieces of legislation in the House of Representatives. First, it allows for the consideration of H.R. 3457, a bill designed to prevent the lifting of sanctions on Iran unless the Iranian government first pays judgments against it for acts of terrorism. The resolution waives certain procedural objections, known as "points of order," that could otherwise prevent the bill from being considered or amended, and it sets a limit on debate and allows for one final motion before a vote. Second, it allows for the consideration of a conference report for H.R. 1735, which is a bill authorizing funding for the Department of Defense and related defense activities for fiscal year 2016, also waiving points of order and setting debate limits. Finally, it permits the Speaker to entertain motions to suspend the rules on a specific legislative day, allowing for quicker consideration of certain matters.
