This bill amends Florida Statutes Section 456.031 to require certain licensed professionals, including those in medicine, nursing, psychology, and other health-related fields, to complete a 2-hour continuing education course on both domestic violence and human trafficking as a condition for relicensure or recertification every third renewal period. The human trafficking portion of the course will cover topics such as the types and extent of trafficking, risk factors, medical record management for victims, available social services, reporting hotlines, identification tools, and referral options. This addition aims to equip these professionals with the knowledge to identify and assist victims of human trafficking, a serious crime involving the exploitation of individuals for labor or sex.
