This bill amends existing law to allow for a deduction from gross receipts tax for payments received by home health agencies for medical and other health and palliative services provided to beneficiaries of the federal Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000, with this deduction being in effect until July 1, 2026. The bill also makes technical changes to existing provisions regarding deductions for dialysis facilities and renumbers subsequent sections of the law. The Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000 is a federal program that provides compensation and benefits to energy employees and their survivors who suffer from illnesses caused by exposure to radiation, toxic substances, and other hazards in the nuclear weapons industry.
