This bill requires school principals to allow representatives from patriotic societies to recruit students during school hours, starting with the 2016-2017 school year. A "patriotic society" is defined as a group listed in Title 36 of the U.S. Code that aims to serve individuals under 21 years old. These societies will be granted one day at the beginning of each academic year, with the principal's approval, to speak to students for a maximum of ten minutes about civic involvement and how to join. The society must provide written notice of their intent to speak, and the principal will then provide written approval for the specific date and time.
