This bill modifies existing laws regarding carrying firearms on snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). Previously, firearms had to be unloaded and in a case, with an exception for nonambulatory individuals. The new provisions allow individuals to carry loaded firearms, concealed or not, without a permit to carry weapons when operating or riding on land they own or possess, provided their actions are otherwise lawful. When operating or riding on land not owned or possessed, a loaded firearm is permitted if it's a pistol or revolver secured in a retention holster, the person has a valid permit to carry weapons, and their conduct is within the permit's limits. The bill also prohibits discharging firearms from a snowmobile or ATV, except for nonambulatory individuals lawfully hunting from a stationary vehicle.
