This bill establishes the MassMade Program, which will be managed by the Massachusetts Office of Business Development (MOBD). The program aims to identify, connect, and support businesses within the commonwealth that manufacture consumer goods, and to serve as a resource for consumers looking for products made in Massachusetts. The MOBD will collaborate with various organizations, including regional economic development groups, small business associations, chambers of commerce, the supplier diversity office, the Massachusetts Marketing Partnership, and the office of consumer affairs and business regulations, to gather and share information about these "MassMade businesses." A MassMade business is defined as an entity that produces a consumer good in Massachusetts, is headquartered or has its principal place of business in the state, holds a certificate of good standing from the office of consumer affairs and business regulation, and wishes to participate in the program. The MOBD is authorized to use appropriated funds, as well as accept federal funds and private gifts and grants, to support the program, and will create regulations for its administration.
