This bill allows the town of Westwood to use funds from the "aid to the elderly and disabled taxation fund," which is a special fund established to help specific residents with their property taxes. The fund committee can give money from this fund to low-income residents who are 60 or older or disabled, and who meet other criteria set by the town. Additionally, the committee can provide funds to residents who are 60 or older, have previously received a property tax reduction from the town for offering volunteer services, but are now physically unable to provide those services. This assistance is separate from any other tax exemptions or reductions the recipient might already receive.
