This bill amends Utah's abortion laws to: 1. Define "perinatal hospice" as comprehensive support for a mother and her family from the time of diagnosis of a lethal fetal anomaly, through the child's birth and postpartum period, with a focus on alleviating fear and ensuring the family experiences the life and death of the child in a comfortable and supportive environment. 2. Require that when informed consent is sought for an abortion, the woman must be informed of the availability of perinatal hospice as an alternative to abortion in cases where the unborn child has been diagnosed with a lethal fetal anomaly. 3. Require the Department of Health to provide a separate brochure on perinatal hospice as the state's preferred alternative to abortion in cases of lethal fetal anomaly, including information on local and national perinatal hospice services, counseling, and medical assistance benefits.
