This bill includes recovery care centers as facilities licensed under chapter 395 of the Florida Statutes. It provides admission criteria for recovery care centers, requires them to have emergency care, transfer, and discharge protocols, and authorizes the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to establish separate standards for recovery care centers. The bill also directs AHCA to enforce the special-occupancy provisions of the Florida Building Code applicable to recovery care centers and applies the Health Care Licensing Procedures Act to recovery care centers. Additionally, the bill exempts recovery care centers from certain minimum licensure requirements.
