This bill establishes special procedures for considering House Bill No. 58, which relates to the compensation of public officials. It sets a deadline of 1 PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 for filing amendments to the bill, except for perfecting or consolidating amendments offered by the Committee on Ways and Means. The Clerk of the House is required to notify the primary sponsor of each amendment and print the amendments filed electronically, which will be considered the official amendments. The bill also prohibits the introduction of amendments on subjects different from the amendment under consideration, except that members may remove their amendments from a consolidated amendment and offer them as first-degree amendments. Additionally, consolidated amendments may not be divided. Any amendment not complying with these special procedures will be considered withdrawn.
