This bill prohibits the state from interfering with a woman's decision to prevent, commence, continue, or terminate a pregnancy prior to fetal viability, or from restricting the use or manner of medically recognized methods of contraception or abortion. It defines "fetal viability" as the stage of gestation where the attending physician determines there is a reasonable likelihood of the fetus' sustained survival outside the womb. The bill also clarifies that it does not abrogate existing provisions related to informed consent for abortion and health care facility licensing.
