This bill establishes an annual use fee of $25 for the Dan Marino Foundation license plate and requires the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to create this specialty license plate. The revenues from the sale of the plate, after recovering startup costs, will be distributed to the Dan Marino Foundation, a Florida nonprofit organization, which can use up to 10% of the funds for administrative costs and marketing, with the remaining balance used to assist Floridians with developmental disabilities in becoming employed, independent, and productive, as well as to promote and fund educational scholarships and awareness of these services. The bill takes effect on October 1, 2017.
