This bill requires counties in New Mexico to transfer additional revenue to the County-Supported Medicaid Fund. Specifically, it amends an existing law to require counties that do not have a county health care gross receipts tax to dedicate an amount equal to a 1/16 percent gross receipts tax rate to the Medicaid fund. It also requires counties to dedicate an additional 1/16 percent of the prior fiscal year's taxable gross receipts to the Medicaid fund, regardless of whether they have the county health care gross receipts tax. The bill declares an emergency and sets the effective date as April 1, 2017, or the first day of the month following the date the bill takes effect if that is after April 1, 2017.
