This bill amends the existing law to make the names and addresses contained in the central registry of voters not a matter of public record. However, it allows the information to be made available to the jury commissioner, adjutant general, state party committees, statewide candidate committees, state ballot question committees, and certain tax-exempt organizations and political action committees for a fee. The State Secretary has the authority to deny requests for the information if the requesting organization has a history of using the data for purposes other than civic engagement, public policy advocacy, and political advocacy.
