This bill amends the Massachusetts General Laws to allow certain facilities to administer scheduled psychotropic medication without prior written informed consent in three specific instances: (1) when a resident is admitted to a facility from an inpatient hospital where they were already receiving the medication with valid consent, (2) if a resident poses an imminent threat of harm to themselves or others, or (3) for hospice care residents who need immediate administration of psychotropic medication to prevent extreme distress, discomfort, and/or pain.
