This bill aims to enhance transparency in campaign finance. It amends existing election laws in the following key ways: 1. It expands the definition of "elected" to include candidates for state committee of a political party if their position appears on the ballot. 2. It exempts candidates for state committee of a political party from the campaign finance reporting requirements of the chapter, unless they or their committee have received or expended $1,000 or more. 3. It allows state political party committees to make unlimited in-kind contributions to the campaign funds of candidates, provided the funds are raised under the limitations of the chapter. 4. It prohibits political committees of political parties from contributing to candidate campaign funds, except with funds raised under the limitations of the chapter. 5. It requires candidates for state committee of a political party, and their non-elected political committees, to file campaign finance reports if they receive or expend $1,000 or more, on or before the eighth day preceding the election and as a final report after the election.
