Relative to credible service for school nurses. Public Service.

AI Summary

This bill allows school nurses who are members of the teacher's retirement system, a municipal or city of Boston or state retirement system, and are employed in a school approved by the Department of Education, to receive creditable service for any period or periods of work experience in the nursing field. The bill requires the school nurse to pay into the annuity savings fund of the system before any retirement allowance becomes effective, an amount equal to 10% of their regular annual compensation for each year of service being purchased, plus buy-back interest. The maximum creditable service allowable under this bill is three years, and the school nurse must have completed at least 10 years of membership service to be eligible for this benefit.
