This bill amends the General Laws of Massachusetts to define "family health coverage" as health insurance coverage for an employee and their eligible dependents, and "individual health coverage" as health insurance coverage for an employee. It also changes the contribution rates the Commonwealth makes towards the health insurance premiums of active and retired public employees. Specifically, the Commonwealth will contribute 80% of the lowest cost family health coverage plan for active employees and their dependents, and 90% of the lowest cost family health coverage plan for retired employees and their dependents. For individual health coverage, the Commonwealth will contribute 80% of the lowest cost plan for active employees and 90% for retired employees.
