This bill directs the Office of Medicaid to establish a bundled payment pilot program designed to serve individuals with complex conditions and co-morbidities, including behavioral health conditions. The program will include four different models of bundled payments: 1) a bundled payment for an acute care inpatient hospitalization; 2) a bundled payment for an episode of care including an inpatient stay and related services; 3) a bundled payment for an episode of care triggered by an acute care hospital stay and beginning at the initiation of post-acute care services; and 4) a single, prospectively determined bundled payment to a hospital to include all services provided during the inpatient stay. The program will also designate case counselors to coordinate different healthcare services, including behavioral health treatment, and ensure geographic accessibility and cultural/linguistic competence of services for participating patients.
