This bill aims to provide employers with immunity from civil liability when they disclose certain information about current or former employees to prospective employers. The key provisions include: (1) employers are immune from liability for disclosing an employee's date of employment, pay level, job description and duties, and wage history; and (2) employers responding to a written request from a prospective employer are immune from liability for disclosing the employee's prior written evaluations and whether the employee was voluntarily or involuntarily released and the reasons for separation. This immunity applies to causes of action accruing on or after the effective date of the bill.
