This bill requires the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security to conduct a study evaluating the necessity and feasibility of implementing certain snow safety procedures related to rooftop snowfall and fire hydrant accessibility. The study will assess the dangers posed by heavy snowfall on building roofs and skylights, as well as the need for identification markers on large building skylights to improve visibility after heavy snowstorms. The study will also evaluate current procedures for clearing fire hydrants after snowstorms, incidents of harm caused by inaccessible fire hydrants, and the feasibility of requiring property owners to clear fire hydrants or face fines. The office must submit a written report with its findings and recommendations to the state legislature within 180 days of the bill's enactment.
