This bill seeks to amend existing legislation to direct the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) to manage, operate, improve, repair, and maintain the land under certain waters accessed for recreational boating. Specifically, it requires the survey of the parcel to include navigable channels and berthing/mooring areas on the water sheet, and establishes a schedule for maintenance of navigable waters from each boating facility. The bill also requires the Commissioner of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance and the Commissioner of Conservation and Recreation to manage, operate, improve, repair, and maintain the land under water for recreational boating waterside access and the protection of navigable waterways and channels. Additionally, the bill stipulates that the lessee must have adequate access to navigable waters for recreational boating and mooring, and to ensure the capacity for water-dependent uses.
