Relative to creditable service in the retirement system for certain reinstated employees. Public Service.

This bill amends Section 105 of Chapter 32 of the General Laws to allow members who have been reinstated to the retirement system to receive creditable service for their reinstatement service upon completion of required payments and regular deductions. If a retirement allowance becomes effective before the completion of such payments, the member will be entitled to credit for a proportional amount of the reinstatement service, in addition to any credit for service rendered prior to the date of reinstatement, provided the member would have otherwise been eligible for that prior service.
