Bill Summary

This bill requires the Chief Administrator of the Motor Vehicle Commission (commission) to compare, not less than once per month, the commission's database records with the death records produced by the Social Security Administration and to mark as deceased in the commission's database any individual who is listed in those death records. Currently, it appears that the commission periodically receives data from the Social Security Administration through the National Technical Information Service within the Department of Commerce. Under the bill, the commission would be required to subscribe to receive Social Security Administration data, at minimum, on a monthly basis.

AI Summary

This bill requires the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) to compare its database records with the death records produced by the Social Security Administration at least once per month and to mark as deceased any individuals listed in those death records. Currently, the MVC receives data from the Social Security Administration through the National Technical Information Service, but this bill would require the MVC to directly subscribe to the Social Security Administration data on a monthly basis.
