This bill amends Chapter 271 of the General Laws to allow for social card games, such as poker, pinochle, and rummy, to be played at municipal senior centers in the Commonwealth. The key provisions are: (1) the winnings of any player in a single game or session cannot exceed $50, (2) the amount of money contributed by a single player during the entire session must be $5 or less, (3) all money wagered on the game is distributed to the players by the end of the session, (4) all players must be natural persons who attend and compete in the game in person on equal terms, and (5) no person can receive any profit outside of the players' winnings for arranging or facilitating the game.
