This bill establishes the Transportation Technology Advisory Commission, consisting of 20 members representing various state agencies, legislators, transportation advocacy organizations, technology experts, and industry stakeholders. The commission is tasked with studying the impacts and consequences of changing transportation technologies, including their effects on the environment, social justice, safety, congestion, public transit, transportation management associations, the Massachusetts economy, data sharing, transportation planning, regulatory gaps, infrastructure needs, and regional collaboration. The commission is required to convene in person at least four times per year and report its findings and recommendations, including proposals for legislation, regulation, or pilot projects, to the state legislature every two years from 2018 to 2026.
