Bill Summary
Relative to creditable service for certain public employees. Public Service.
AI Summary
This bill amends the Massachusetts General Laws to provide that if a state employee who is a member of a retirement system purchases additional creditable service time under the law, the retirement board shall notify the employee's human resources or personnel administrator of the amount of creditable service time purchased. The employee will then receive credit for that additional service time for the purpose of determining the rate at which the employee earns vacation time as a state employee.
