AI Summary
This bill, the Reigning In of Governmental Hostility To Sovereignty at the CFPB Act of 2017 or the RIGHTS at the CFPB Act of 2017, amends the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 to allow private parties involved in administrative proceedings brought by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to compel the CFPB to terminate the proceeding. If a private party requires the CFPB to terminate the proceeding, the CFPB can then bring a civil action against the private party for the same remedy that might have been imposed in the administrative proceeding. The bill also deems any administrative adjudication commenced under this section as an "action" for the purposes of the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010.
